Looking for reliable DVD to iPod software? Watch out for junk and phony applications.

Video Conversion software: Are there any applications currently on the market that actually work?

You will want to review my special report before purchasing any useless applications. I threw away hundreds of dollars on programs that just didn't work but you don't have to.

Dear Readers,

If you are here just for the special discount I found, click here and look no further. Otherwise, please continue reading.

I spend a lot of time traveling, when on the job. Thus, it's important to me to have a collection of my favorite movies readily available to view. As long as I have the company of my favorite sitcoms, movies and concerts with me, time spent traveling goes by quickly and smoothly. Overall, it simply makes my life all that much better.

When you first unpack your new iPod, the joyous experience of having a new toy to play with can lead to quite a bit of frustration, if you haven't anything to watch on it. Suppose you even have some clips or favorite scenes to a movie but most everything you want to watch, such as movies, TV series or concerts are collecting dust with your DVD's.

How great would it be if you could just snap your fingers or click the mouse and instantly have your favorite features on DVD convert to a format your iPod can read and play? Unfortunately, several software vendors claim to provide this type of service but when tried and tested, most software programs prove to be faulty, phony or just don’t work at all. For the most part, the same vendors will not offer 30-day money back guarantees or any type of technical support for their applications.

Rest assured you'll have quite a bit to choose from, when it comes to video conversion software. However, I can personally tell you that 99% of these applications will be nothing but fraudulent. It’s possible you’ve already bought one of these programs and feel a loss in your investments. That's nothing! I’ve bought 36 of them by now! At an average price of a little over $29, the total amount of money I've thrown away ranges in the thousands of dollars. You can laugh, I don't mind. I just wanted to prove to myself and those willing to learn from my mistakes what is really going on with these applications.

What's going on?!

Tucows.com lists about 2,000 applications under the Audio and Video > Video > Video Conversion category.
Download.com lists 1,056 applications under the Windows > Video Software > Video Converters category.
Soft32.com lists 1,248 applications under the Windows > Video Software > Video Converters category.

Too many? Yes, you're right!

Thus, I bought program after program and application after application within the past year or so. I paid careful attention to their functional components, user-interfaces, rating for user-friendliness and customer support teams. I've even tested them on a number of different platforms and environments, such as my computer at work, my desktop and my husband's computer. I didn't spend just 5 minutes on each of them. I actually tried various tasks with them for a number of weeks. Even if they crashed, again and again, I didn’t let this discourage me from trying to use it. In the meantime, I decided to research some of the companies selling this so-called junk.

I repeatedly found things that disgusted me:

  • Applications that just will not work. Either they would crash or put out unusable files.
  • Programs with no help guide.
  • Applications not backed by customer support teams. No phone numbers, email addresses or mailing addresses for questions about the software.
  • Rarely, any money-back guarantees and when they were included with the application, I still didn’t get my money back after requesting a refund. Can you believe someone selling a top-notch application wouldn't back it up with a strong guarantee?
  • Same application being sold by different companies – sounds unbelievable but it's true! The applications would vary only slightly by changes to the engine’s color scheme or moved icons but they were the exact same, under two different names.
  • Companies with outsourced customer support - don't get me wrong, I have nothing against outsourcing but I need to understand what the technical support people are saying.
  • Spelling errors on the user interface - not a big deal but let's face it, what trustworthy company won’t go over the application with a fine-tooth comb before releasing it?
  • Resource-intensive applications: The applications would take up all available memory on my computer, such that I couldn’t even stop it, if I tried. Not to mention the DVD spun around like crazy in the docking bay.

After a year of testing, I realized that these so-called applications are simply useless. The sad thing is that in most cases, the vendors know it before they release it. Yet, they just don't care and go on laughing all the way to the bank, after pocketing the money.

Thus, the question remains, did I find any usable applications? The fact is I did and I consider my quest to finally be over. The only application I found to work flawlessly with each different environment and computer is the Avex DVD to iPod Video Suite conversion tool. The application runs with complete stability, at very high conversion speeds. In addition, Avex actually provides English-speaking, live customer support teams. You can expect the response time to be within 2-hours, which is very good. The user-interface is simple to navigate and quite aesthetically pleasing, if that seems to be of some priority. Most importantly, the application is easy to use, well designed and programmed. If you'd like to give it a try for yourself, you can download it here.

While researching the various companies supplying these types of applications, I came across a website offering a 30% discount on Avex DVD to iPod conversion software. As for an additional bonus, if you purchase the application and use it for more than 50 days, I'd like to hear from you about your opinions of the software. I'll even give you $10.00, just for your opinion. Thus, you'll actually be able to get the program nearly free! Simply send me your thoughts and proof-of-purchase and I'll credit you a bonus of $10.00 through PayPal, immediately.

In wrapping up my report, I can say that I've not been happier than when I found an application I can use and a company I can count on at the same time. I can no longer hide my disgust towards the 99% of application vendors with false claims and advertisements. This doesn't mean there aren't any other legitimate applications out there, but I strongly encourage everyone to be on alert for scams, as those seem to occur a bit more frequently.

On a final note, this is the only video-converter I recommend purchasing and using. The 30% discount available here makes it even more appealing. However, you should realize special offers do expire.

As your opinion is very important to me, please feel free to leave any comments or share your experiences with other iPod enthusiasts. If you come across any other products worthy of investment, I'll be more than glad to hear about them. Also, if you've personally had a bad experience with any number of the applications and wish to warn other potential customers, feel free to communicate that here.

Best wishes,
